| Review | Kosas The Sun Show Moisturizing Baked Bronzer
A moisturizing powder bronzer?! Is this real life? Yes! Kosas is delivering innovation to the clean beauty scene and the beauty industry in general! A powder bronzer that is truly moisturizing would be a gamechanger! Additionally, the Kosas brand is a clean beauty brand providing only the best clean ingredients in their products.
The Kosas The Sun Show Moisturizing Baked Bronzer retails for $34.00 USD and is available at Sephora and other retailers. Can we all take a brief moment to applaud Kosas for the amazing name with the fun pun? The Sun Show! haha... I can't help loving a good punny name like that. These baked bronzers are packaged in a translucent seafoam green plastic compact. The brand doesn't seem to have signature packaging but they seem to go for something fun that suits each product. This packaging is fun and beautiful, suiting this bronzer very well.
SHADES
This bronzer formula currently comes in 3 different shades, that are meant to span a very wide range of skin tones. I would personally prefer a few more shades in the range to more thoroughly cover skin tones but these three shades aren't bad and it looks like Kosas craft these shades with a lot of thought.

I initially purchased only medium but found it to be quite dark and pigmented, even for my medium skin tone, so I picked up the light shade as well. I really wish there was a shade in between these shades because I find the light to be a touch too light for me but the medium to be a bit too deep for me. I can make both work and mix them together but ideally, I'd like more shade offerings.
Light - This shade is a light bronze with a very subtle warm tone but it mostly leans neutral. It has very fine gold shimmers throughout the powder. This light shade is amazing for a fair skin tone especially, those who find bronzers to look too orange on them.
Medium - This shade is a fairly deep terracotta bronze shade that blends out to a very warm tan. It has a fairly strong reddish tone to it, which can give you that sun flushed look. This shade is definitely quite deep and has fine gold shimmer throughout it.
FORMULA
These powder bronzers are incredibly soft and EXTREMELY PIGMENTED! When you dip your brush into the powder, it immediately picks up a ton of product and there is a lot of powder kick-up sitting on the surface of the powder. I found myself easily overdoing this bronzer and because the powder was so heavy on the brush and I didn't powder my skin. The bronzer ended up clinging to my skin and I had a hard time blending it out. I recommend picking up as little bronzer as possible and tapping the excess off onto the back of your hands, to not only remove excess but even out the distribution of all the powder. This is also such a soft powder that I would recommend powdering before applying this bronzer.
When I used the Light shade, it was much easier to manage and build on the skin but I believe it is because the color is light on my skin tone. However, the medium shade seems to meld with the skin more a little after application. The shimmers are very fine and offer a luminous glow but they don't emphasize texture or pores. These bronzers give a very healthy glow! I feel some people may find them a bit too glowing if you have oily skin but I feel most people would enjoy this luminous bronzer. These bronzers also last all day, beyond 8 hours of wear. These don't fade and just look really natural on the skin.
As far as the moisturizing claim, I don't really notice the powder being moisturizing but it's not drying. I think the moisturizing concept is more about the super soft and smooth powder consistency that glides onto the skin and doesn't cause dry patches or texture to be emphasized. Also, the soft glow gives the illusion of very healthy moisturized skin. Don't expect this powder to actually moisturize the skin but it will give you that moisturized look.
THE LOOK
I am wearing the medium shade and you can see that it looks quite deep. This is also over liquid foundation without powering my face. It was very hard to blend the super fine powder, so it looks like a pretty strong streak on my cheek.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I love the smooth and ultra-fine milling of this baked powder bronzer. The softness of the powder is a bit messy to work with because it kicks up so much powder and your brush will pick up so much product. This can also make it more difficult to blend and personally prefer not to powder my skin most days; however, the smooth texture seems to glide seamlessly onto the skin. I love the soft glow of this bronzer, which is a very rare finish to find for a bronzer. You often see matte bronzers or matte bronzers with shimmer particles in it but nothing quite like this luminous glow. This bronzer is almost like a very subtle highlighter, which is right up my alley with my dry skin. I think the brand could use an expansion of shades but other than that, I love this bronzer formula! I have no regrets about picking up two shades because I love this formula. The soft glow and the smooth texture sits so beautifully on the skin! The pigmentation is rich and saturated, which can be built up on a variety of skin tones. I highly recommend picking up this bronzer if you are looking to try a new bronzer! This one is well worth the price!
