Aveda Nourish-mint Rehydrating lip glaze*, £15.50
available online

Aveda and makeup is still quite an oddity to me and I find it easy to forget they have their own beauty range, considering they are such a leading institute in the world of hair and styling. If you ever want a mean blowdry, then I urge you to visit the Aveda salon in London's Holborn as it is such a blissful experience, only exaggerated more due to its position bang-slap in the middle of bustling central London.

A few months ago I was treated to a preview of Aveda's newest beauty range, the Passion Flower Collection, and slowly but surely a few key pieces from this latest launch are slowly seeping into my everyday makeup hoard. In particular, the smoothing lip colors. Lately I've been testing out the rehydrating lip glazes which come in the same environmentally-friendly packaging produced from recycled newspaper and have a lip-tingling mint flavour and aroma. The colours range from soft nude and pinks to punchy reds and corals and all have a gorgeously smooth application and satin shine. The lip glazes contain pomegranate and naturally derived conditioners which protect, nourish and soften the lips and I did really notice how smooth my lips felt whilst wearing these glosses. The brighter colours have amazing pigmentation whilst the softer shades are laced with a glistening golden shimmer that makes the lips appear full and plumped. I personally love Pearl Rose and enjoy wearing it alone for a really natural finish, or layering it over a rosy-pink lipstick such as Please Me from Mac, for a beautiful muted pink lip.

Which shade is your favourite? Have you tried anything from the Aveda makeup range?
