Posted: 23 Jun 2020 02:49 PM PDT

Summer is officially upon us, and while the dance world is dramatically different this year with club closures and festival cancellations, we've still got the music.

There are a collection of tracks vying for the dance song of the summer title, with Lady Gaga and Kygo both dominating the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart on the power of their new albums Chromatica and Golden Hour, respectively. Add these songs to a collection of other hot electronic singles that are probably heating up your socially distanced pool parties.

We want to know your pick for the dance song of summer 2020. Let us know by voting below.

Beyoncé joins Megan Thee Stallion on ‘Savage’ remix for a good cause - The Undefeated

Now, we have a proper summer anthem.

Even though summer in 2020 won't be exactly what we expected. There was only one person we needed to hear from.

Queen Bey.

And, my goodness, did she give us something special.

She teamed up with fellow Houston homegirl Megan Thee Stallion and she jumped on her viral hit Savage for a remix. It's the kind of single that's the soundtrack for rooftop parties in 89-degree weather, the kind of track that makes you wanna jump into some cutoffs (You don't pull dukes on, yo. Listen to the song. You jump into 'em.). It's the kind of music that makes you wanna slide into your drop-top and crank up the sound until the doors on your convertible nearly rattle off the hinges.

No mask. No gloves. No social distancing.

Just fun. And normalcy.

This track takes us back to when life on the outside didn't seem so bad. It draws up so many great memories as Beyoncé raps during much of her verses: "If you don't jump to put jeans on/baby you don't feel my pain."

And it's true because her presence is strong, but doesn't completely override what Megan Thee Stallion brings to the track, which is quite the feat, considering that many Beyoncé cameos have made their originators disappear. On their own song. We knew this duo was going to link up eventually – or we hoped – considering that Megan Thee Stallion is signed to Jay-Z's label Roc Nation for management.

But, glory be, did they drop some hot fire. And, hey, it's for a good cause. The remix is a charity single to raise money for Bread of Life, which is working with Beyoncé's BeyGOOD initiative during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Beyoncé's BeyGOOD recognizes the immense mental and personal health burdens being placed on essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic," reads a statement on her website from BeyGOOD. "In our major cities, African Americans comprise a disproportionate number of workers in these indispensable occupations, and they will need mental health support and personal wellness care, including testing and medical services, food supplies and food deliveries, both during and after the crisis."

Her foundation is pledging $6 million in funding to help with that effort. So, when the next round of inevitable TikTok videos starts populating on Instagram and Twitter with this version of the song, we can all feel a bit better. And when we finally get the go-ahead to break free?

Whoo-wee. Watch out, now.

Kelley L. Carter is a senior entertainment writer at The Undefeated. She can act out every episode of the U.S version of "The Office," she can and will sing the Michigan State University fight song on command and she is very much immune to Hollywood hotness.

Beyoncé Makes Appearance on Together at Home to Talk Coronavirus - HarpersBAZAAR.com

Beyoncé used her appearance on One World: Together at Home to thank everyone who continues to work so that the majority of people can stay home amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The singer filmed the video message on behalf of Lady Gaga, Global Citizen, and the World Health Organisation (WHO). In particular, Beyoncé highlighted the disproportionate number of African American citizens who have been affected by the pandemic.

Read Beyoncé's message in full:

"Tonight, we celebrate true heroes, those who are making the ultimate sacrifice to keep us all safe, fed, and healthy. To the doctors, the nurses, and other healthcare workers who are away from their families, taking care of ours, we continue to pray for your safety.

To those in the food industry, mail carriers, sanitation employees, who are working so that we can be safe in our homes, we thank you for your selfless service.

Black Americans disproportionately belong to these essential parts of the workforce that do not have the luxury of working from home. And African American communities at large have been severely affected in this crisis. Those with preexisting conditions are at an even higher risk. This virus is killing black people in an alarmingly high rate here in America. A recent report from my home city Houston, Texas it showed that COVID-19 deaths within Houston city limits, 57 percent of fatal cases are African American.

Please protect yourselves. We are one family, and we need you. We need your voices, your abilities, and your strength all over this world. I know it's very hard, but be patient, stay encouraged, stay positive, and continue to pray for our heroes. Goodnight, and God bless you."
