This is Genevieve: Gen.

This is Genevieve. She's fun, she's smart, and she designs the most incredible pieces for an equally incredible label of the same name. Most Aussie girls will know that This is Genevieve has quietly crept its way into the worn-to-death-and-beyond section of our days out, coffee breaks, nights out, road trips, days in... nights... in. The rest of the world: get on board. I am definitely a fan of how true to my inner (not-so-inner) quirk designer Gen manages to maintain. And how excellent that I got to ask her a bit about how she goes about this :D

How did This is Genevieve start?
It started in 2007 with a lot of hard work, determination, perseverance and luck.

What would you call the This is Genevieve vibe? The collection is a fusion which can take you from beach to bar, a relaxed yet luxe vibe. Being Australian has its advantages when designing a range, we are are brought up with the ocean at our doorstep whilst living in the city. This combination has a huge influence on the collection. The city helps me plan out the urban part of the range as well as the jewellery, shoes and accessories. While the proximity of our beautiful beaches and hot summers are reflected in the swimwear.

Where will This is Genevieve be in 10 years?

Who knows?! That’s the exciting part of it.

Which is your personal all time favourite This is Genevieve piece? Its hard to pinpoint one, there are so many pieces that I treasure from past collections and the favourite tends to update with each new season.

What do you think of the new wave of bloggers coming through?
Love them! You get an opinion, view and an insight which is visual and creative. The best thing is that its live information so blogs can often be more up to date than print.
