Face is the most essential ingredient of beauty. It reflects whatever is going through you at any moment. There are innumerable cases where you find it difficult to take care of your face: the pimples, acnes, rashes, allergies, ageing, and what not. Here are few interesting tips that will help your skin to glow and shine naturally.
Frequent short showers
This is a proven fact. A short 10-minute shower with cool water aids in the retention of facial moisture thereby prevents the skin from drying off. A longer shower with hot water is a major trigger for dry skin.
Exfoliate gently
Removal of dead skin is very essential for a glowing skin. You can do a dry exfoliation every day morning before you take the shower. You can take the help of a mild scrubber to remove the dead cells twice a week. Choose a herbal product instead of opting for a chemical-based one. You can prepare an oatmeal scrub at home. Oats, along with exfoliating the dead skin, also helps in retaining the moisture.
Keep your skin moisturized
It is very essential to keep the skin moisturized, internally as well as externally. Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily, along with the intake of a diet rich in fruits and vegetables. Fruits are rich sources of antioxidants, which have the potential to get rid of the free radicals, which trigger premature ageing. You can use a moisturizing soap or a face wash to clean your face.
Pat dries the face and applies generous amounts of moisturizer on your face. Try to choose gel-based moisturizers if you have an oily skin. A moisturizer rich with alpha hydroxy acids can aid in soothing the dry skin and delay the ageing process. Change the moisturizers as the weather changes.
Protect your skin from the sun
Protecting the skin from the harsh UV rays is very essential to avoid dry skin and scars. Use a sunscreen lotion or a moisturizer with sunscreen ingredients to offer protection to your facial skin. Once again, opt for lotions, preferably gel-based, if you have an oily skin. Choose a sunscreen lotion with a minimum SPF of 15 and apply it 10 to 15 minutes before your step out of your house.
Acne Care
This is a common problem. Excessive collection of sebum causes acnes. Follow these few steps for a clear skin:
1. Wash the face regularly with a mild medicated soap and warm water.
2. Never scrub the skin, as scrubbing can worsen acnes, leaving their marks.
3. Regular application of lemon juice has proven to offer effective cure for acne.
4. Apply honey on acne before you hit your bed and leave it covered. You will be able to notice visible improvement.
5. Apply a paste of baking soda and water on the affected area, allow it to dry, and then wash off with lukewarm water.
Beauty enhancers
Here are a few homemade instant face packs which can help you to get a naturally glowing skin:
1. Prepare a mixture of 1 tbsp plain yogurt and few drops of sesame oil. Apply on your face and rinse off after 15 minutes for a visibly radiant skin.
2. A mixture of one mashed banana and honey gives a glowing, moisturized skin. Rinse off after 15 minutes of application.
3. A mixture of mashed, simmered apple with 1 tbsp lemon juice and crushed peppermint leaves gives a refreshing appeal to your skin. Apply it and rinse off thoroughly after the mixture dries up.
4. Mashed ripe mango peel helps to clear off clogged pores, leaving a radiant skin behind.
Last, but not the least, keep the makeup minimal. Always use the cosmetics from the same family. Switching products may give you results, but those are not good for long run.
