Packaging
Packaging-wise, all is the same as its predecessor. A beautiful, simple, lightweight, sleek black lacquered compact.
The compact has a mirror on the underside of the lid for and very good quality, smooth sponge applicators. While most people would normally not bother to use these, I personally find them rather useful and perfectly fit for these type of eye shadows. They pick up the product really well and deposit and place the pigment perfectly when using a patting/dabbing motion. You can also use them to blend out any edges with gentle swipes. Otherwise, use your favourite brushes. ;-)
Colours & Finishes
The palette contains a very pale, pink highlighter, metallic French sky blue, satin to matte black and a metallic dove gray with pink shimmers.
Swatches
Applied on tanned, olive skin (~NC35) and photographed indoors under artificial lighting using a strobe. These were swatched dry (with no primer, etc), using the sponge applicators provided and minimal number of swipes (2-3).
Comparison Swatches
I'm happy to find that the combination of colours in Tissé Riviera are unique in my collection of blue eye shadow palettes. However, I thought I'd share comparison swatches of the blue eye shadow - Tissé Riviera's star colour with other blues in some of my palettes.
a. Top left eye shadow in Dior 5 Couleurs Couture Colour Eyeshadow Palette in 'Bleu de Paris' (254). It's the closest match to Tissé Riviera's, but the latter is a little darker.
d. & e. are the top right and bottom right eye shadows in Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow in 'Lagons' (29) [original baked eye shadow formula - note the poor pigment when swatched dry!]

Texture, Application & Longevity
I'm very impressed with the pigmentation of these reformulated eye shadows. I only need to go over the eye area once to get decent colour pay-off. When applied, the colour stays true to what you see in the pan. The texture is smooth, slightly creamy even (compared to the previous formula which was much dryer and even a bit coarser in texture and needed a damp brush to soften the product and to get better colour intensity). In fact, it's so smooth, I could just as easily apply the eye shadows with a clean finger tip and apply it well! It adheres to the skin and blends easily. I experienced no fall-out during application. I did find however, that the longevity of this quad for some reason wasn't as long as the other three quads that I've reviewed (Tissé Gabrielle, Tissé Vénetien and Tissé Rivoli). It lasted about 6-7 hours before noticeable fading, which is still fairly decent in my book, but was almost entirely gone a few hours later. For reference I have a normal (neither oily or dry) eye lid skin condition and I did not apply any eye primer.
RRP & Size
£40.00 for 2 g / 0.07 oz - a little more than the original Chanel quads, which weighed 1.2g / 0.04 oz.
Bottom Line
Overall, this is one of my favourite blue eye palettes. I especially love how the blue applies just as vibrant and true to how it looks in the pan - even on my olive, tanned skin tone. This doesn't happen with a lot of blue eye shadows! :)Hope this was useful!
